RENAISSANCE ART UNDER ATTACK FROM MUSLIMS

Police Protection for “Mohammed Pulpit”-Thomas Landen
Belgian police is protecting a 17th century pulpit in the Flemish town of Dendermonde. The pulpit in the Catholic church of Our Lady dates from 1685, two years after the battle of Vienna when the Christian armies of the Polish King John III Sobieski defeated the Turks poised to overrun Europe. The sculpted wooden pulpit, made by Mattheus van Beveren, depicts a man subdued by angels and represents the triumph of Christianity over Islam. The man is generally thought to be Mohammed. He is holding a book which is generally assumed to be the Koran….Since Friday, we have received threats while the authorities in Belgium, which has a large population of Turkish immigrants, fear that the pulpit and the church may be attacked. The Belgian press reported today that the police is guarding Dendermonde’s Our Lady church to prevent vandalism to church and pulpit. (Brussels Journal).

GERT WILDERS SEEKS THE REUNIFICATION OF FLANDERS AND THE NETHERLANDS

Wilders Looks for European Allies, Suggests Reuniting Flanders and Netherlands -Paul Belien
Wilders Looks for European Allies, Suggests Reuniting Flanders and Netherlands-Paul Belien
Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party PVV and the maker of Fitna, a controversial movie about the Koran, is back in the Netherlands after a two-week vacation in Las Vegas. In an interview published today in the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the largest newspaper in the Netherlands, Wilders said that his party will stand for election in the 2009 European elections and must consider allying itself with like-minded European parties. He also called for a reunification of Flanders, the Dutch-speaking northern part of Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Wilders went to Vegas, but not to gamble. The 44-year old politician told De Telegraaf he only spent 10 dollars in a casino. He asked the local police if he could join them on their patrols, and he did. Wilders is very impressed by the LVPD. Apparently, the feeling was reciprocal. The policemen had seen Fitna and liked it a lot. They told Wilders: “You should run for president here!” (Brussels Journal)

ENCROUCHING SHARIAH, SCOTLAND’S MUSLIM POLICE ASSOCIATION TO COUNTER ‘ISLAMOPHOBIA’

First Muslim Police Association created in Scotland -Mathaba
The formation of the association in Scotland comes despite their only being around 31 Muslim officers in Strathclyde's 7,000 strong force, which is based around Glasgow, and some 30,000 Muslims living in the region that make up a mere 1.5 percent of the population. Police constable Amar Shakoor, Scotland's first Muslim officer, said there had been recent negativity directed towards the Muslim community, which is being treated with suspicion and increased scrutiny.

ISLAMIC RESEARCH CENTRES FOR CAMBRIDGE AND EDINBURGH UNIVERSITIES

Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities announce new Centres for Islamic Studies
The University of Cambridge, the University of Edinburgh and HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of the Kingdom Foundation will today announce plans to create two new research centres for Islamic studies.

Funded by a £16million endowment by Prince Alwaleed which will be shared equally by the two universities, the new centres will aim to carry out both research and public engagement designed to enhance understanding between the Muslim world and the West.

The agreement will be formalised at a signing ceremony at Buckingham Palace today ( Wednesday, May 7 ), attended by both Prince Alwaleed and HRH Prince Philip, who is Chancellor of both universities.

The Cambridge-based HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre of Islamic Studies will enable the development of a “constructive and critical awareness of the role of Islam in wider society”, initially through research programmes on Islam in the United Kingdom and Europe, and Islam and the media.

WOMEN FOR PALESTINE SEEKING MOTION TO SUPPORT PALESTINE

Petitioning Australia to support Jihad-Cassandra
I’ve heard some pretty silly things in my time, but this must rank as the silliest.
Sonia Karkar, of Women for Palestine, is seeking support for a motion supporting Palestine.
Let’s first look at the facts, something Islamists and their dhimmi friends find somewhat inconvenient, but which can be located in any serious book written before post-modernism and historical revisionism took hold. Here are a few to ponder: (read more HERE) “Did you know that there was never any country called Palestine… and no such thing as a Palestinian people?
The idea that the West Bank and Gaza are occupied Palestinian land, and that the Palestinian people are fighting for their land,… are the biggest lies ever deliberately perpetrated on humanity."

ITALIAN MEDIA NEEDS TO PLAY A MORE POSITIVE ROLE IN DEPICTING MUSLIMS

Italy: Muslims 'victims' of media
Rome, 12 May(AKI) - An international conference on multicultural relations has heard how Muslims suffer from discrimination and poor media perceptions about Islam. The US state department's senior advisor to European and Eurasian Affairs, Farah Pandith, said Muslims suffered from a "victimisation mentality" and the media needed to play a more positive role. She said there were "rants, and too many opinions, telling us what is wrong." She was speaking at a conference on ethnic communication at the Center of American Studies in Rome. Amanullah Shahed, director of the US-based news site AltMuslim.com and founder of a web media network called Halalfire Media, told the audience about the demonisation and misinterpretation of Muslims and Islam in American media. Shahed criticised what he called "disorganisation of Muslims" in the US and in Europe and gave suggestions on how to overcome what he called media 'traps'. He also said Italy could lead the way. FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Washington Post’s Fear Of Criticising Islam

Pulling Punches: WaPo Cancels Article for Being 'Too Critical' of Islam
-Matthew Sheffield
phenomenon (curious in that modern liberalism is highly secular and radical Islam decidedly is not) has repeated itself many times over the years and is really one of the most bizarre behaviors I've seen in politics. As strange and morally obtuse that we on the center-right believe the western liberal press to be on this issue, surely the more frustrated people have got to be clear-thinking liberals like Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens who face the task of trying to get their ideological compatriots to stand up for rationality and civil society. It's a difficult task made even more frustrating by the high degree of self-censorship among liberal media elites. Writing earlier this week at the Huffington Post, Harris (an equal opportunity critic of all religion) recounts how the Washington Post refused to run [1] an article he wrote on the "Fitna" movie that the paper deemed "too critical" of Islam. Such behavior originates in not just the usual double-standard westernized religion faces but in a very real fear among left elites that criticizing Islam is a physically dangerous endeavor. ANTISEMITISM:
Muslim Student Association Usurps The Holocaust

The "Nakba" at UC Irvine-Editors
The UC Irvine Muslim Students' Union Association is currently staging a week long "Nakba" event (May 7-15) which, under the guise of commemorating the "catastrophe" of the founding of the Jewish state, will bring onto campus the genocidal philosophy being promoted by leaders and movements throughout the Middle East. This preparation for genocide makes headlines every day in the world press. Rejecting the international community's call for negotiation and statecraft, Iran's Ahmadinejad, Hizbollah's Nasrallah, and various spokesmen of Hamas instead prepare for the obliteration of Israel. From the goose-stepping soldiers of Hizbollah, Syria and Iran to the broadcasts of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion on al-Jazeera and Egyptian TV, homage is paid to the Nazi past by radicals throughout the Muslim world. In their sermons and public proclamations the most virulent Jew-hatred since the dark of days of the Third Reich is trumpeted. And unlike the Nazis they do not conceal their malevolent goal.

“We don’t need to go to the Christians, or the Jews, debating with them about the filth which they believe …

Islamic Hatred in the Heartland By Patrick Poole
Khalid Yasin is one of the most notorious Islamic hate sheikhs in the world today. He had been widely condemned from the US to Britain to Australia for his virulent Wahhabist extremism, his intense anti-Americanism (despite the fact that he is an American-born convert), his justification of Islamic terrorism, his wild-eyed conspiracy theories, and his outright racial and religious bigotry. And an Australian news investigation found that Yasin had claimed academic degrees that the schools had no record or, and also discovered that he had engaged in outright fraud in his building his international Islamic media empire.

So it is troubling to see that Khalid Yasin will be lecturing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio on May 16th, sponsored by Dayton’s Masjid-at-Taqwa. (Frontpage Magazine)

HEZBOLLAH’S COUP D’ETAT WHILE THE PRESS YAWNS

Why Hezbollah should be condemned: When Israel attacked Lebanon in 2006 the world was outraged. What about Hezbollah now?-Dean Godson
After all, Hezbollah is one of the world's most ruthless clerical fascist organisations - complete with ersatz Nazi salutes and Iranian-style Holocaust denial. When the legitimate, democratic Government of Lebanon dared to challenge it, Hezbollah went on a sectarian rampage, murdering scores of opponents and destroying much of the country's free media. Yet there has been not a peep from the concerned humanitarians of the Stop the War Coalition, which boasted of putting 100,000 people on to the streets to protest against Israeli assaults. Nor has much been heard from two of Hezbollah's most high-profile and indulgent British interlocutors - the ex-MI6 officer Alastair Crooke and Michael Ancram, the former Conservative minister. Mr Ancram urges that we “dance with wolves” such as Hezbollah to obtain peace. “It is suddenly possible to explore Hezbollah claims to be an essentially Lebanese resistance movement with no current aggressive cross-border intentions towards Israel,” he opines. Indeed so: right now its aggressive intentions are inwardly directed, towards its fellow countrymen. (TimesOnline).

‘The Zionist Regime Is Dying’

Iran's Ahmadinejad says Israel "dying"
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Israel was "dying" and that people in the Middle East would destroy it if given the chance…"The Zionist regime is dying," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern city of Gorgan, referring to Israel. "The criminals imagine that by holding celebrations ... they can save the Zionist regime from death." "They should know that regional nations hate this fake and criminal regime and if the smallest and briefest chance is given to regional nations they will destroy (it)," said Ahmadinejad, who often rails against Israel and the United States. Be Careful What You Wish For

Israel’s doom would be bad news for Europe-Mark Steyn
Since Israel marked its half-century, the “right to exist” is now routinely denied not just in Gaza and Ramallah and the region’s presidential palaces but on every European and Canadian college campus. During the Lebanese incursion of 2006, Matthew Parris wrote in the Times of London: “The past 40 years have been a catastrophe, gradual and incremental, for world Jewry. Seldom in history have the name and reputation of a human grouping lost so vast a store of support and sympathy so fast. My opinion - held not passionately but with little personal doubt — is that there is no point in arguing about whether the state of Israel should have been established where and when it was” — which lets you know how he would argue it if minded to. Richard Cohen in The Washington Post was more straightforward: “Israel itself is a mistake. It is an honest mistake, a well-intentioned mistake, a mistake for which no one is culpable, but the idea of creating a nation of European Jews in an area of Arab Muslims (and some Christians) has produced a century of warfare and terrorism of the sort we are seeing now. Israel fights Hezbollah in the north and Hamas in the south, but its most formidable enemy is history itself.” Cohen and Parris, two famously moderate voices in the leading newspapers of two of the least anti-Israeli capital cities in the West, have nevertheless internalized the same logic as Ahmadinejad: Israel should not be where it is. Whether it’s a “stain of shame” or just a “mistake” is the merest detail.

Lebanon: Hezbollah’s Nasrallah says ‘There is no Civil War’

Full text of H.E. Sayyed Nasrallah Press Conference: We are in a new period ~ Unconstitutional government must back down

“Q: Do you have any idea how the civil war that nobody wants will end?
A: There is no civil war. There is an exaggeration in picturing the current events. Yesterday the media exaggerated in picturing certain incidents that occurred and mentioned invasions and occupations and civil war. I admit that there are warnings of war, and the war I mention is that which the others wanted and imposed. We don't want a war with anyone as we always call for dialogue and participation and political resolutions. The ones that took the decisions leading to war should cancel them and everything will end. For two years I have been saying that we are not in a hurry and that we will not resort to means that put the civil peace at stake for the sake of the issue of a government or authority. Our bets are on elections not on fighting. Yes, the ones that made the decision to take us to war should annul the decision and no war will occur.”

INTERNET:

WIKIPEDIA, NOT SO FREE OR HONEST

Exposed - Anti-Israeli Subversion on Wikipedia: HonestReporting exposes anti-Israel activists manipulating the online encyclopedia.
Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia anyone can edit, may strive for pure democracy, but that doesn't mean it's always fair. Our colleagues at CAMERA learned this the hard way last month when their effort to fight anti-Israel bias on Wikipedia ended in several members being banned from the site and bad press for the organization. CAMERA's campaign involved recruiting volunteers and instructing them in the basics of Wikipedia participation. The Palestinian advocacy group, Electronic Intifada (EI), however, branded the effort "a plan to rewrite history" and filed a bitter complaint with Wikipedia administrators, resulting in unusually stiff penalties for the CAMERA volunteers involved. TERRORISM IN YOUR CHILD’S BEDROOM

Report Examines Spread of Extremism Via the Internet-Matt Korade
Radical Islam is moving out of fundamentalist mosques and into your child’s bedroom, and the government doesn’t know how to deal with it. This was the driving message behind a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee report released Thursday addressing the spread of violent jihadist ideology online. “We need a well-coordinated national plan to counter terrorist use of the Internet,” Chairman Joseph I. Lieberman , I-Conn, said at a news conference on the report’s release. Ranking Republican Susan Collins of Maine echoed his remarks. “The United States lacks a cohesive and comprehensive outreach and communications strategy,” Collins said. Written jointly by the committee’s majority and minority staffs, the report found that radicalization-by-Internet was a real and growing phenomenon in America as well as overseas. Those interested in, or susceptible to, terrorist propaganda can find immense caches of it online, the report said: radical Islamists use multimedia formats to exhort the use of violence, provide operational instructions, and raise funds and recruits.

TERRORISM:

THE ‘INTERFAITH’ TERRORIST

The Latest ?Interfaith? Leader with Terror Ties-Steve Emerson
In anticipation of the deportation proceedings of Imam Mohammed Qatanani of the Islamic Center of Passaic in New Jersey, New York Times trumpeted "Revered New Jersey Imam, Facing Deportation, Has Interfaith Support." And indeed, the Imam has had various "interfaith" leaders testify on his behalf, as reported by Newsday:
Several Catholic priests and a Jewish rabbi became emotional on the stand when describing how much Qatanani had done for interfaith understanding.
Qatanani is accused of having lied on his immigration documents both about his arrest and conviction in Israel (which he now claims was merely a "detention") and his confession that he was a member of Hamas (which he now claims was procured under torture). Qatanani also claims he only recently became aware of his conviction by Israeli authorities. But Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Heather Philpott has testified:
...during the 2005 meeting Qatanani admitted he had been arrested and convicted by Israeli authorities, and that he had been advised by an attorney at the time to plead guilty to being a member of Hamas and sign an affidavit to that effect.

JIHAD TERRORIST GROUP POSTINGS

HAMAS:

AL-Qassam Brigades: Hamas calls for massive protest on the 15th

"Protesting Siege... Hamas Calls on Masses to Flock to Bayt Hanun Crossing"

On the anniversary of Al-Nakbah ["the catastrophe" - reference to the events that befell the Palestinians in 1948] and in order to continue the activities aimed at breaking the siege, Hamas has called on the Palestinian masses to head to the main gate of the Bayt Hanun-Erez Crossing in an escalatory step to break the siege imposed on the Palestinian people.

Hamas's public activities spokesman Ashraf Abu-Diyah urged our people in the Gaza and northern governorates to flock to the main gate of the Bayt Hanun Crossing, controlled by the Zionist occupation forces, following noon prayers on 15 May in an angry mass uprising to break the suffocating siege imposed on our people.

Abu-Diyah said that this move will constitute a strong message to the Zionist enemy that our people cannot abide by this stifling siege and slow death that they are being subjected to, and that they are intent on breaking this siege by any and all means since they have reached the end of their tether. He also said that all options are now open to the Palestinian people to combat the siege that weighs heavily upon them, compounding their suffering. Abu-Diyah also warned that the continued siege and utter paralysis in all sectors will trigger that greatest humanitarian disaster in history.

Abu-Diyah called on the Arab and Islamic peoples to support their brethren in Gaza and stage angry mass uprisings in the Arab capitals, wondering how long the Arab regimes would remain in a state of suspended animation, and if they would awaken from their slumber before the Palestinian people are wiped out. He called on said regimes to shoulder their moral and religious responsibilities and take a clear, bold stance against the siege that has lasted for nearly a year.

Abu-Diyah further called on all local and international media outlets to cover this event organized by Hamas to break the siege and expose this Zionist enemy by conveying the true image of the crime committed against our people.

‘Secular systems have no legality and authority and should be rejected by Muslims’

Secularism is Kufr, Whoever accepts that evil is outside the fold of Islam-from a Jihad Forum

Secularism is defined in the Webster dictionary as: “A system of doctrines and practices that rejects any form of religious faith and worship” or “The belief that religion and ecclesiastical affairs should not enter into the function of the state especially into public education.”

There is no doubt that secularism contradicts Islam in every aspect. They are two different paths that never meet; choosing one means rejecting the other. Hence, whoever chooses Islam has to reject secularism. In the following, we go in the details of explaining why.

1- First, secularism makes lawful what Allah has made unlawful.

The Rule of Allah (Shari`ah) is compulsory and has basic laws and regulations that cannot be changed. Some of these laws are concerned with the acts of worship, the relations between men and women, etc.

What is the position with regard to these laws?

Secularism makes adultery lawful if the male and the female are consenting adults.

As for Riba (interest on money), it is the basis of all financial transactions in secular economies. On the contrary, Allah says:

“O you who believe, fear Allah and leave what comes from Riba if you are believers. If you do not do so, then wait for a war from Allah and His Messenger.” ( TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah: 278)

As for alcohol, all secular systems allow the consumption of alcohol and make selling it a lawful business.

2- Second, secularism is clear unbelief (Kufr).

Secularism is based on separating religion from all the affairs of this life and hence, it rules by law and regulations other than Allah’s laws. Hence, secularism rejects Allah’s rules with no exception and prefers regulations other than Allah’s and His Messenger’s. In fact, many secularists claim that Allah’s laws might have been suitable for the time they were revealed but are now outdated.

As a result, most of the laws governing the daily affairs of life in the countries ruled by secular systems contradict Islam. Allah says:

“Do they seek a judgment of Ignorance? But, who, for a people whose faith is assured, can give better judgment than Allah?” (TMQ Surah Al-Maidah: 50)

Ibn Katheer said in the Tafseer of this verse that Allah is denouncing those who reject His ruling and accept other rulings that are not based on the Shari`ah of Allah. Whoever does so is indeed a non-believer. Indeed, belief in Allah can never go with the acceptance of other than His rulings in one’s heart. Allah says:

“If any do fail to judge by what Allah has revealed, they are non-believers.” (TMQ Surah Al-Maidah: 44)

From the above, the status of secularism and its relation to Islam are clear. But the ignorance about the Islamic truth is still dominating the Muslim’s mind. Most secular systems repeat slogans like “no religion in politics and no politics in religion” or “religion is for Allah, and the state is for the people.” Such sayings portray their view of Islam as a religion to be practiced in the masjid only, and that it should not be allowed to rule life outside the masjid. Furthermore, they try to deceive people with democratic slogans like “personal freedom” and “people governing people.” That means that people come first and no place is made for the ruling of Allah.

This is why secularism is clear Kufr, this is why secular systems have no legality and authority and should be rejected by Muslims.
