THE THIRD JIHAD HITS THE WEST COAST

CONTROVERSIAL FILM PREMIERING AT WIESENTHAL CENTER’S MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE EXPOSES HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES UNDER RADICAL ISLAM

(LOS ANGELES, CA – May 14, 2009) Just one day after the successful premiere event at Washington, D.C.’s National Press Club, the American Freedom Alliance and Clarion Fund announced today the West Coast premiere of Clarion’s newest documentary film, The Third Jihad, scheduled to take place at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles on May 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Following the film, several experts, including Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser and Tawfik Hamid, as well as The Third Jihad’s co-director Erik Werth, will hold a panel discussion regarding the challenge of radical Islam in America.

“There is no better place than the Museum of Tolerance to reflect on the human rights injustices that arise in societies ruled by radical Islam,” said Mr. Werth.  “Women, children, homosexuals and Christians are being persecuted, and in some cases even murdered, by those who wave the banner of radical Islam.  Americans must heed the films message in order to prevent this from becoming a reality here.” 

Clarion is simultaneously launching its RadicalIslam.org activism website, the foundation of the organization’s grassroots movement.  Clarion developed the user-friendly website to provide America with practical response tools to radical Islam.  The site includes up-to-the-minute updates on radical Islam from major news sources as well as social media-driven networking capabilities for users who are interested in taking action.

“Clarion Fund recognizes the propagation of radical Islam and the promulgation of Sharia Law (Islamic religious law) within our borders as a clear and present crisis affecting the Muslim American community and the American public at large,” said Peter Connors, Executive Director of Clarion.  “Our educational tools and media properties will serve as a platform for the American public – including Muslims – to embrace Western liberties and speak out in a meaningful way to silence radical elements in our midst.” 

The Third Jihad, which is narrated by Dr. Jasser, centers on the FBI discovery of a Grand Jihad Manifesto calling for “civilization jihadist process,” a cultural jihad to undermine the U.S. from within using non-violent strategies.  Dr. Jasser illustrates how this silent war has already begun in America and other Western countries.

The film features interviews with experts on radical Islam and American security specialists, including leading expert professor Bernard Lewis, as well as a first-hand account from a former terrorist.  All those interviewed agree that the spread of Islamic fundamentalism in America is a societal reality that cannot be ignored.

Participating in the panel discussion following the screening will be Dr. Jasser, a devout Muslim, former physician to the U.S. Congress and founder and president of The American-Islamic Forum for Democracy, and Dr. Tawfik Hamid, noted author, both of whom are driven to expose the threat of radical Islam to the West.  Panelist Erik Werth, co-director of The Third Jihad, is an Emmy Award-nominated former investigative journalist with Dateline NBC.

As with the Washington, DC premiere, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has been invited to participate in the panel discussion as well.  They declined the Washington invitation. Their attendance has not yet been confirmed for the Los Angeles screening.
