A Remembrance: Munich - The Legacy of Appeasement

AFA will hold a remembrance of the events of 1938
at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City featuring the perspectives and commentary of world leaders on the Munich Agreement and its relevance for our time.

The commemoration, will take place at 1: 30 pm, will recall the infamous Munich Conference and Agreement at which the U.K. Germany and Italy and France agreed to cede Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland to Nazi Germany in an attempt to appease Adolf Hitler. Germany shortly after occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia and threatened Poland which made World War II inevitable.

This commemorative event will be followed at 3:00 pm by an awards ceremony at which Hon. John Howard, the former prime minister of the Commonwealth of Australia will be presented with the Winston S. Churchill Medal of Freedom and Hon. Petr Pithart, the first prime minister of an independent Czech Republic after the collapse of the Soviet Union will be presented with Tomas Masaryk Prize. The Inter Continetal Hotel, Century City is located at 2151 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles.
