We’re Back – AFA Email, March 15

 In AFA emails, AFA News

The following is a reprint of our March 15, 2016  email, the first email sent after the passing of Avi Davis.

The American Freedom Alliance is Back!

Dear  [friend of AFA],
As you no doubt have heard, Avi Davis, the founder and long-time president of the American Freedom Alliance, died suddenly last December at the too-young age of 57.
Avi Davis

His death shocked us to our core – so many of us were close friends as well as colleagues, and the loss of this intellectual force, this truly good man who dedicated his time, his energy, his life, to the protecting of our freedoms, is something we’re still reeling from.

But his vision – AFA’s vision, AFA’s mission –  is one that is too vital for us to let just fade away, especially now, at this critical moment when the very survival of Western civilization and our Judeo-Christian culture have never been in greater peril.  If you are on our mailing list, you are aware of the vision, the wisdom and the programs that are the building blocks of AFA and the endorsements of those who recognize our work.

So I’m writing to you today to tell you:

WE’RE BACK

We have a renewed Board of Directors, each of us committed not only to continuing the work begun by Avi, but to take it to the heights that he had the vision to foresee, and beyond.  Our new President, Michael Greer, has been a long-time participant in the organization and also an AFA Fellow.   I am honored, after a number of years as a supporter and board member, to be our newly-elected Chairman, and I’m confident that you’ll find we’ve assembled an outstanding team, committed to ensuring that the American Freedom Alliance is the vibrant, powerful and freedom-supporting organization that Avi had worked so hard to create. In addition, our AFA Fellows are an immeasurable asset to our mission.  You may view their biographies here.

Right now we’re in the process of planning our first event, the 2016 Heroes of Conscience Dinner on May 15th, 2016.  This year, we have chosen to honor Avi himself, giving the community he had created the chance to bid him farewell, to celebrate his life and work, and to learn about the future we are planning for AFA to continue his legacy. Negotiations are underway for our roster of speakers and we will keep you apprised as plans progress, but we do hope you mark this date on your calendars and that you plan to celebrate his life with us.

We are also planning further Literary Cafés, Cinema Gateway events, and a conference later in the summer.

So make no mistake:  the American Freedom Alliance is here to stay, and we are committed to partnering with you to chart a renewed course of freedom in America, the West and around the world. Please check our website for updates, and we will stay in touch as we continue to shape up our calendar of events.  We look forward to seeing you at these events and venues.

Most sincerely,

Karen Siegemund, PhD.
Chairman of the Board
American Freedom Alliance
